Use the S.T.A.M.P.E.D. Method to Choose the Specific Hose for Your Needs

When evaluating your specific hose assembly needs, think S.T.A.M.P.E.D.

  • SIZE: What are the hose's Inside Diameter (I.D.) and Outside Diameter (O.D.)? What is the overall length of the hose assembly?
  • TEMPERATURE: What is the temperature range of the material flowing through the hose? What are the temperature highs and lows of the hose's outside environment?
  • APPLICATION: What is the hose being used for? (Hydraulics, venting, suction, discharge, etc.)
  •  MATERIAL: What material or substance will flow through the hose assembly? Specific materials (i.e. oil, abrasive, chemical, gasses, etc.) often require specific hose design parameters to be sufficiently contained and adequately utilized.
  • PRESSURE: What is the maximum working pressure of your application? Does the pressure level experience surges and/or regular decreases?
  • ENDS: What type(s) of fittings are required for the application? (i.e. male or female, pipe thread, jic, metric, angled, etc.) Are the fittings designed for the hose?
  • DELIVERY: If the same inside diameter of the original hose is used, you can assume the system is properly sized to efficiently transport the fluid. However, if you have a new system, or if you have altered the old one, you will need a new hose size.
You've got options

Hydraulic hose varies in weight, size, temperature rating, working pressure, flexibility, and reinforcement layers.

  • Extremely High Pressure: EnviroFluid® spiral wire hose has a constant working pressure rating per hose size (3,000-6,000 psi and 3 / 8" to 2" ID).
  • High Pressure: Long-lasting, high impulse life, wire braid reinforced hose offers constant pressure, flexibility and ½-bend radius rating in a range of sizes, pressures and temperature ratings.
  • Medium Pressure: Designed to meet standard SAE and European Norm specifications, these hoses cover a range of pressures and temperatures.
  • Low Pressure: Consider global MegaVac®, the world's first flexible, ½-bend radius, high-temperature return line hose, with excellent vacuum ratings and sizes up through 4½" ID.
  • M-XP™ Million Impulse: This revolutionary hose combines the flexibility of wire braid construction with the strength and performance of spiral wire reinforcement. Tested at 1,000,000 impulse cycles (at 212°F), this economical option handles 4,000-psi, high-impulse applications in all sizes.
